Chia Seed Lemonade

Chia Seeds are one of nature's coolest products! They soak up liquid to create a unique, jelly-like texture that is just brimming with possibilities. They also happen to be very good for us with Omega-3's and a ton of fiber! This drink is a simple way to consume this neat gift from nature!

Tools: A drinking glass (16-20 Oz), Straw (optional)

Time: less than 5 minutes

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp (Organic) Chia Seeds

2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (fresh or bottled)

1 tsp Maple Syrup (or Agave or your favorite sweetener)

16-20 Oz Cold Water

Optional:

Pinch of Citric Acid (if you like tart lemonade)

Splash of Lime Juice

Recipe:

  1. Add the ingredients to the glass (order doesn’t matter)

  2. Allow the full glass to sit for around 15 minutes, in the refrigerator or on the counter, for the chia seeds to become completely hydrated. Stir it occasionally or the chia seeds will clump together.

  3. Note: This can easily stay in the fridge overnight, the seeds won’t become “soggier”.
